Position summary

Sr Biomedical Informatics Cnst (Job Opening 440611) - Reporting to the Vice Chair of Biomedical Informatics,;supports biomedical research projects across the health sciences fields; works with investigators to understand objectives and goals of research in order to design custom applicatoins that store, query analyze and manipulate very large datesets, including clinical, biomolecular, genomic data; in conjunction with OSUMC IT, oversees maintenance and updates of applicable software and ensures adequate testing of software prior to updates; serves on relevant department and university and College of Medicine committees; leverages existing applications (e.g. SCARLET) in the Medical Center ; designs and assists in developing new applications; initiates collaborations with departments relative to promoting and adapting existing projects and tools; promotes the use of newly designed and deployed informatics tools.

Education and experience

Masters degree in biomedical informatics, computer/information science, computer science engineering or equivalent combincation of education/experience required; considerable experience in management and delivery of Java-based software application and Web Applications required; strong customer relation skills; experience in working with clinical and basic science researchers; experience in Java, HTML, CSS, XML, Service Oriented Architecure; experience in inter-application communication protocols, sytems design and software integration, and database development required; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; willingness to learn new software and analytic platforms. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualifi
