Position summary

Program Manager (Job Opening 440632) - Program Manager - Manages instrumental programmatic functions of the Office of Geriatrics and Gerontology; collaborates with Program Director regarding strategic planning, program objectives and goals; networks across the University and wider community to identify aging issues and strategies to advance the mission of the Office; works directly with faculty and content experts to develop appropriate topics and education delivery methods; develops and manages multiple gerontology education programs and associated curriculum development; establishes program policies, budget and other resource management to support program development and implementation; envisions web based delivery of educational programming and works with web development staff to design delivery methods; plans, conducts and analyzes special studies related to gerontology and formulates recommendations for further program development and enhancement; represents the Office and provides management support for the College level efforts with the MSTAR (Medical Student Training in Aging Research) Program, the Medical Student Geriatric Interest Group, and the LSI Geriatric Task Force; guides Program Assistant in identifying and implementing outreach and marketing efforts; leads academic meetings and research discussion groups; serves on committees and represents the Program Director as needed.

Education and experience

A Master's degree in Education, Business, Marketing or related field or an appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience in program planning and administration required; distance education and web development knowledge required; previous program planning experience in the area of aging is preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
