Position summary

Research Resource Specialist (Job Opening 441224) - Research Resource Specialist in the Division of Human Genetics within the Department of Internal Medicine to provide assistance and advisement to the Division Director in creating, extending, and implementing a research consortium and identifying and securing external grant funding in support of research; provides consultation on development and execution of research consortia and research proposal designs; develops measurement instruments for all research workflow processes, tracking of cycle times and work completed; collects data and supervises the collection of data; analyzes data; writes and prepares grant proposals; creates cohesive proposals from ideas contributed by various participants; edits scientific and non-scientific sections for clarity develops and contributes to infrastructure and methods for generating research proposal ideas and collaborations; contributes to grant applications, program evaluations, research articles, reports, or proposals; manages and prepares NIH progress reports; ensures timely submission of grant proposals; assists in the writing of manuscripts, for scientific journals, publications, articles for lay public magazines and /or websites

Education and experience

Doctoral degree in an appropriate biological/health science or equivalent education/experience required; extensive experience and expertise in scientific writing and health professions research required; evidence of significant contribution in the development and writing of grant applications and proposals required; requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
