Position summary

Program Director (Job Opening 442216) - Program Director to direct, lead, promote and administer Applied Health Policy Research initiatives and technical assistance efforts for the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center (GRC); establishes, develops and maintains collaboration with GRC, state and local government agencies, and health care providers; selects and manages subject matter expert contractors to work on applied health policy research initiatives, including evaluation projects; develops, implements and modifies program policies and procedures; serves as liaison to state agencies on applied health policy research initiatives (e.g. opioids, health care systems development); works directly with state leadership to develop new contracts and resolve concerns; conducts semi-structured interviews and qualitative analyses of primary and secondary data; directs analyses and evaluation of applied health policy research initiatives; provides technical assistance for research design and interpretation of findings; reviews work products from subcontractors; coordinates the activities of researchers and project managers assigned to projects; identifies and resolves program concerns; leads efforts to develop and submit applications for funding in support of programs and projects, including identification of potentially new funding sources; oversees and administers budgetary activities; reviews and approves program expenditures; plans and develops strategies to ensure program success; plans, develops and implements GRC strategic planning and goals as they related to healthcare systems development; manages project management and other staff; serves as a PI for selected projects; works with other managers to coordinate staff allocations across projects appropriately allocate project management resources

Education and experience

Master's degree in appropriate field or equivalent combination of education and experience; considerable experience in program planning and administration; supervisory experience strongly desired; experience in working with governmental entities, particularly health and human services organizations, strongly preferred.  Requires successful completion of a background check.  Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
