Position summary

Asst Dir - Material Systems (Job Opening 442947) - The Assistant Director ensures 24/7 supply chain support is delivered to Ambulatory locations in a manner that ensures quality care is being delivered.  Responsible for implementing and maintaining a standard and effective supply chain management system in all Ambulatory areas. Provide leadership and management for all materials and supply chain staff employed in the Ambulatory sites. Identifies new areas to implement lean principles and reduce inventory on hand. Responsible for establishing standard work and stand supply room configurations.  Works with Facilities and Planning analyzing and recommending sufficient space and other resource requirements needed in future supply chain spaces Is a subject matter expert on lean distribution principles. Trains all supply chain staff in lean principles and certifies them on the systems. Continuously assesses and improves all area's performance, maintains appropriate quality control programs, and provides for orientation, in-service training, and continuing education of staff in the department.  Coordinates and monitors the order, receipt, storage, and distribution of supplies, linen, and equipment in various inventory management systems and locations. Generates and edits purchase orders for Ambulatory supply orders. Participates in staff training and development. Evaluates and counsels staff in job performance via the P3 tool.  Develops policies and procedures. Manages operating and capital budgets for assigned cost centers. Coordinates special projects. Supports Supply Chains Mission, Vision, and Values as stated in the position scope.

Education and experience

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Healthcare or relevant field with 7 to 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Business, Healthcare or relevant field required.  Preferred: Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Healthcare or relevant field. Operations experience. Lean management experience. Certifications in related field.
