Sr. Quality Manager (Job Opening 443267) - Scope of Position The James nursing professionals are committed to enhancing the quality of outcomes and providing safe care to all patients through-out the continuum. The Senior Infusion Medication Safety Quality Manager has dual reporting to the Director of Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and the Director of Infusion Services and provides clinical data review and analyses of patient infusions and events, identification of process improvement opportunities and creating a positive environment for the nursing leadership team as well as clinical staff to achieve optimal safety of medication infusion therapy. Primary focus for this role is to provide leadership and consultation to aid and guide the front-line nursing personnel to utilize the medication infusion devices in order to achieve the highest level of patient safety and improved outcomes by providing leadership with team building, process improvement, and planning/oversight of interventions. Position Summary Under the direction of The James Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Director and in collaboration with the Director of Infusion Services, the Senior Quality Manager evaluates current and new clinical practice, reviews and reports on medication infusion device operations, supports unit level action plans for improvement through work with the shared governance council membership, and helps to facilitate the DMAIC process improvement model. The Senior Quality Manager is responsible to track and trend outcomes and safety metrics, and have oversight of data input/measuring for the infusion device data reports which are delivered monthly and quarterly for use internally to improve patient care safety and outcomes. The Senior Nursing Quality Manager is responsible for dissemination of The James infusion pump reports and metrics throughout the organization.

Education and experience

? Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Ohio. ? Master?s Degree in Nursing or other appropriate health related degree highly preferred. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. ? Minimum 2-5 years nursing experience required. ? Certification in the area of oncology nursing, quality, performance improvement, patient safety or other appropriate certifications required. ? Recent clinical experience within an acute care setting and/or academic medical center along with Magnet designation with CareFusion infusion pump experience required. ? Skilled in program planning, project management, leading interdisciplinary teams. ? Previous experience in leading and facilitating nursing teamwork preferred. ? Experience utilizing a variety of quality and performance improvement tools preferred. ? Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, and facilitation skills required. ? Strong data analytical skills. ? Computer skills including basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products. Email, and internet searches. ? Willingness to learn new system software for data repository.
