Position summary

Research Analytics Consultant (Job Opening 443428) - Functions as a Research Analytics Consultant to plan, lead and oversee the conduct of applied web-based and network interactive data analytical quantitative and qualitative applied health research analysis of Ohio health-associated agency survey, administrative, and instrumental data for the Government Resource Center (GRC); conceptualizes and applies internet- and network-based health informatics techniques to projects and programs to advise agencies and stakeholders; writes programs using database software, statistical software, geographical information system software, web development software, and Voxco call center software and develops special statistical programs for which no packaged software exists; coordinates, conducts, and interprets data aggregation and analyses of applied health research to aid in health policy decisions, evaluate quality improvement and cost management strategies, identify patterns of potential fraud and abuse, measure performance of health care delivery systems and evaluate impact of a new drug formulary; evaluates Ohio health infrastructure capacity; summarizes and generates reports of results of research and applies to health policy issues; manages and oversees large and small uni-and multi-dimensional data sets; analyzes and interprets research data using descriptive statistics, basic inferential tests, advanced statistical procedures, and geospatial analyses; creates advanced and complex queries to generate insurance data; constructs HEDIS and other health policy measures; assists in preparation of journal articles, technical reports and grant submissions; prepares and makes presentations to state and local agencies; develops and prepares new statistical and web-analytic programs targeted at needs of an ongoing projects; provides multi-mode data collection, web analytic technical and statistical analysis assistance to Ohio colleges of medicine and governmental entities; performs and ensures quality control of governmental-based he

Education and experience

Bachelor's degree in quantitative methods epidemiology, social science methods or a related area or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Master's degree preferred; experience using relevant software packages (SAS, Stata, R, SPSS)required; experience in research data analytics or in quantitative and qualitative applied methods required preferably for a local, state or federal governmental agency; academic medical center experience desired; basic knowledge of public health survey methodology desired; Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
