Position summary

Business Analytics Consultant (Job Opening 443694) - Contributes strategic vision and serves as the top-level technical contributor and lead for complex data and analysis work to support the population health initiatives (including the Accountable Care Organization) at The Ohio State University. Serves as the primary contributor and consultant for data related to Population Health. The Data Analytics Consultant Population Health, will be a critical thinker and responsible for providing descriptive, diagnostic, inferential, and predictive analytics for Population Health and ambulatory physicians to support participation in value-based contracts. Responsible for data aggregation, analysis, validation, and reporting for value-based arrangements and other similar initiatives, coordinating data submission in a timely fashion, ensuring the integrity of the data in the system, and developing projects, reports and presentations.  The consultant position is responsible for providing analytical support to the ACO executive team, physician community and ACO partner organizations. The position will be expected to work with datasets from multiple sources, including a large data warehouse containing clinical and medical claims data, in order to delineate key contract drivers through descriptive and predictive analytics. The consultant will be required to effectively communicate his/her key findings to peers and group leadership and assist in presenting the results to a wider audience if applicable. Must possess solid research skills, excel at written and verbal communication, and have proven ability to manage multiple assignments of various depth and duration.

Education and experience

Desired Master's degree in computer science or relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience. A minimum of 4 or more years of experience in healthcare (preferably experience in reporting/analytics environment). A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Value Based Healthcare analytics environment, well versed in claims data analysis. Must have the ability to manage large complex projects/initiatives that involve high risk and great impact for the organization. Must have the ability to serve as a top level technical expert for the discipline of data and analytics. Must demonstrate understanding of enterprise data warehouse, big data, cloud, BI & analytics, content management, and data management.
