Sr. Quality Manager (Job Opening 445326) - Scope of Position
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. The Senior Quality Manager will provide oversight for programs and services as they relate to patient safety, adverse event management and reporting across the Health System and Medical Center so that optimal quality of care and the highest level of patient outcomes can be achieved.

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director of Quality and Patient Safety and the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer, this position will evaluate patterns, trends and processes as a means to improve the quality of care for patients across the Health System and OSU Harding hospital. The Senior Quality Manager works closely with the Chief Quality and Patient Safety Officer and Director to evaluate adverse events and classify as a significant or sentinel event. Ensures event follow up and closes events upon completeness.

Education and experience

Required Bachelor's of Science in health related specialty, Masters preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 5 years of healthcare quality management experience required.  Strong experience in Perioperative area programs and/or Behavioral Health programs.  Demonstrates results using root cause analyses and FMEA processes required and/or other quality improvement tools.  Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills required.  Strong knowledge of industry trends, best practices as they relate to the delivery of high quality and safe health care.  Strong project management experience &experience using variety of quality tools required.  Demonstrate solid history of achieving results with complex  and dynamic teams.  Strong analytical skills required and previous supervisory experience preferred. Computer skills, including basic knowledge and use of Microsoft Office products, electronic mail and the WorldWide Web/ Internet.  Ability to learn new systems software.
