Position summary

Program Manager (Job Opening 445333) - The Program Specialist for Education in the Center for Clinical & Translational Science is responsible for setting and implementing education program short term and long term goals directed to CCTS trainees; clinical research professionals; NIH-funded scholars; cross-institutional, cross discipline OSU faculty and staff; and the national CTSA community. Liaises with the clinical research education representatives from the CTMO and CTO; Works under the supervision of the Director of Research Education, Training & Career Development. The Program Specialist plans, organizes, develops, implements and evaluates education programs and learning activities designed to assist the target population develop their clinical and translational research skills and careers. Develops, manages and coordinates major areas of educational programming related to clinical and translational workforce development, including seminars, symposia, and workshops. Serves as resource specialist to CCTS constituents on education and training programs. Coordinates and assists other CCTS staff and program leaders on education and training programing as needed. Works to implement Team Science initiatives. Knowledgeable of relevant OSU educational resources. Able to work well with faculty, staff, and students from across the university. Possesses project management skills, collaborative abilities and initiative.

Education and experience

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; experience in project management, education program planning and administration; excellent written and oral communication skills desired, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, faculty, and staff; experience using Microsoft Office software desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
