Clinical Value Stream Leader (Job Opening 457783) - Scope of Position The OSUWMC Supply Chain Department is responsible for all aspects of the health system supply chain and the $800M in supply purchases the Wexner Medical Center makes annually.  Clinical Value Stream Leaders are a key element in providing clinical and analytical insights that allow the Supply Chain Department and senior leaders to make data driven decisions.  Position Summary The Clinical Value Stream Leader (CVSL) performs highly complex analyses which include researching and identifying sourcing opportunities and determining ways to find value in all areas. The Clinical background of the CVSL is a critical success factor for this role. The CVSL performs cost-benefit analyses and ROI calculations to reveal the Total Cost of Ownership in all supply chain department projects. The CVSL provides support and overall guidance to the health system Value Analysis Program, which  includes the new product evaluation process and new technology request process.  The CVSL will use clinical background to provide a holistic analysis of products.  Decisions made on outcome data are key to the role.  The CVSL uses clinical knowledge to facilitate and manage health system value analysis teams in the evaluation of new clinical products and provides support for strategic sourcing projects to help reduce the health system?s overall supply chain expenses. The CVSL manages product recalls and alerts for the health system risk management team and supports recall activities and associated project management needs. The CVSL is responsible for analyzing current product usage and cost against member/client contracts and benchmarking with national data. The CVSL determines contract penetration, calculates market share and recommends areas for cost reduction through standardization, substitution, and utilization through contract maximization.

Education and experience

Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business or Health related field with at least 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, RN with Operating Room or Cardiovascular experience preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong clinical/healthcare industry knowledge and understanding of supply chain operations, contracts, negotiations, procurement and value analysis. Proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Word and VISIO.  Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills. Demonstrated superior analytical skills. Experience leading product or supply chain evaluation teams preferred. Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete projects.
