Position summary

Sr. Research App Dev Analyst (Job Opening 459746) - Designs and implements full-stack custom software solutions that may cross multiple technologies and platforms for product owners that may include multiple organizational / department units. Develop and demonstrate an understanding of requirements and user needs in the context of implementation of the overall software product.  Performs detailed problem analysis and research, identifies options, proposes solutions. Applies functional knowledge & experience of multi-tier computer software development, server, network, hosting environments, relational and non-relational databases, APIs, user interface. Leverages experience to use best practices of software development like unit, functional & integration testing, quality assurance, version control systems, and security.  Serve as a technical contributor for the efficient development and effective implementation of research applications. Assist in the architecture design of custom software applications. Occasionally serve as the module/component lead and work closely with peers to design & develop features fulfilling functional requirements. Plans and synergize integration of modules into the overall project architecture to allow seamless operation of the software systems.  Work as a member of a software development team to performs detailed problem analysis and research, identify options, and propose solutions. Working from within an Agile Framework, leverages knowledge and experience with best practices in software development like unit, functional & integration testing, quality assurance, version control systems, and security to ensure that the proposed solutions address user needs. Applies functional knowledge of multi-tier computer software development, server, network, hosting environments, relational and non-relational databases, APIs, user interface to deliver software solutions to product owners. Willing to learn and adapt to meet new technological demands.

Education and experience

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Healthcare, Nursing, Pharmacy, or Allied Health.  Must have 4+ years experience in Information Technology and/or Research (a combination of both research and information technology is highly preferred). Considerable experience in full stack software development with strong understanding of object oriented analysis and design, data structures, service oriented architecture/web services, and front-end web application frameworks. Experience working with multi component systems, which include analysis, specification design, and implementation. Ability to contribute to various scales/sizes of projects/initiatives. Experience working with software development methology like Agile/Scrum. Experience working with Research Applications or exposure to Healthcare IT is a plus.
