Nursing Scientist (Job Opening 425785) - Position Summary

Nursing Scientist is a member of the OSUCCC-James senior nursing leadership team and, as such, contributes to the development and execution of the organization?s mission, vision, values and strategic plan. This nursing leader is responsible for providing vision, strategic direction and leadership for nursing research to the OSUCC-James community of nurses. The Nursing Scientist functions as an expert resource and consultant to anyone within the organization whose research interests relate to nursing and/or patient care. He/She is also a member of the faculty at the OSU College Of Nursing. The Nursing Scientist provides direct supervision for graduate research assistants and an administrative assistant and is responsible for developing and overseeing the organizational infrastructure to support nursing research at the OSUCCC - James.

Education and experience

Minimum Qualifications:

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in nursing and curriculum vitae that demonstrates progressive contribution to the body of oncology nursing research and experience working in an academic medical center. Other desired qualities include a commitment to diversity, inter-professional education and collaboration with other health disciplines, and the ability to mentor clinical nurses as well as students at all levels.

For Hire:
Earned doctorate including preparation in quantitative analysis with a Bachelor?s or Master?s Degree
in Nursing. Current Ohio Registered Nurse license. Demonstrated expertise in clinical nursing research and scholarship. Demonstrated ability to write and publish in professional journals. Demonstrated expertise in application of principles of EBP. Articulated personal program of research.
