Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 431338) - Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training and experience in the study of neuromuscular control and motion analysis in human and animal spinal cord injury under the guidance of a scientific mentor in the School of Health & Rehabilitative Sciences; performs applied research in the area of biomechanics of considerable scope and complexity, in which existing theory or methods may be limited or lacking; designs, executes and conducts advanced lab experiments; works with multidisciplinary teams within and outside OSU; collects, analyzes and interprets research results; compiles research results for publication in reports, papers, journals, books and other media; collaborates with Principal Investigator to develop, write and submit grant applications to obtain funding in support of research being conducted; develops and writes manuscripts for publication in scientific journals; develops, adopts and implements new laboratory methods in the study of biomechanics; translates new or existing biomechanical techniques between human and animal labs; participates in the training of graduate students and junior laboratory staff.

Education and experience

PhD or other equivalent doctoral degree in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, kinesiology or related field is required. Previous experience with cadaveric, human or animal finite element modeling and motion analysis testing procedures required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
