Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 435803) - Postdoctoral researcher to pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor in a research laboratory within the Department of Otolaryngology- Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University; collaborates with principal investigator (PI) on NIH ?funded research investigating age effects on neural encoding and auditory processing of temporal cues in cochlear implant users; develops and implements new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques; assists with development of research software; collects, analyzes and interprets research data; compiles and interprets research findings for dissemination of research results to the scientific community; prepares oral presentations for national and international scientific conferences, workshops and seminars; writes and submits manuscripts, articles and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals; assists PI in preparing the R01 grant application to obtain funding in support of research; collaborates with PI to develop and establish goals and objectives of research; participates in training and oversight of students and clinicians..

Education and experience

Ph.D in Biomedical Engineering, psychology, hearing science or equivalent required; strong computer programming skills preferred; experience in cochlear implantation, auditory electrophysiology, and/or cognitive psychology desired. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
