Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 441212) - Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; designs and implements magnetic resonance imaging pulse sequence programs, image reconstruction algorithms, and image processing methods; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the study of the role of cardiovascular magnetic resonance in the diagnosis and evaluation of patients with cardiovascular disease; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH), as well as by other government agencies and commercial organizations; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.

Education and experience

Doctoral degree in engineering (biomedical, electrical, mechanical, computer) or medical physics or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Experience in magnetic resonance imaging research preferred; experience in pulse sequence programming, image reconstruction, and image processing is strongly preferred; scientific publication record desired.
