Position summary

Research Assistant Professor (Job Opening 442667) - Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine/Division of Human Genetics; assists with and provides scientific direction for clinical and translational research studies relevant to Human Genetics; participates in the development of original research proposals as co-investigator or principal investigator; submits and administers grants; obtains salary and research support derived from successful grant funding; tracks grant submissions to national and local agencies to ensure proper review procedures and prepares resubmissions, if necessary; supervises research personnel; plans and executes funded research; prepares and submits manuscripts for publication; tracks manuscripts through all stages of review process to ensure timely publications; revises manuscripts following review, proofreads galleys for accuracy for publications, and ensures return to editorial staff or journal for timely publication; composes and presents research at conferences; directs undergraduate researchers and research personnel.

Education and experience

PhD required; 2-4 years of research administrative, clinical research or translational research experience in an academic or industry role required. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
