Position summary

Clinical Research Assistant (Job Opening 442668) - Clinical Research Assistant to provide support to a multi-site research protocol in dilated cardiomyopathy being conducted in the Division of Human Genetics within the Department of Internal Medicine; prepares, performs quality checks, and ships recruitment kits for patients and family members to study participants and to clinical trial sites; assists with interviewing subjects for follow up interviews in clinical studies; assists with sample collection and shipments to laboratory; responds to inquiries from study participants; assists with participant recruitment; assists with preparation of study documents for participants; conducts follow up telephone interviews with participants as assigned; collects, organizes and enters research data in research database; reviews medical charts of enrolled participants for medical history; assists with training of student workers and providing study coordination support; performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Education and experience

Experience in a clinical research capacity desired; experience in a clinical and/or research setting working with patients, physicians, and health staff desired; human subjects training and understanding of IRB processes desired. Requires successful completion of a background check. Selected candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
