Position summary

Clinical Research Assistant (Job Opening 443033) - Clinical Research Assistant to participate and assist with clinical research studies in the Sports Health and Performance Institute and the Department of Orthopaedics/Division of Sports Medicine; participates in the recruitment of study participants according to study protocol; assists principal investigator (PI) in screening study patients; explains study and assists with obtaining informed consent from study participants; coordinates and schedules study events; makes follow-up calls to participants to obtain additional study information and check on their progress; routes questionnaires to multicenter site; assists with collection of data; works with sponsor and multicenter on development of and results of data queries; completes case report forms; records adverse events as identified by senior clinical research staff; communicates events to PI and provides written documentation to sponsor and/or coordinating site; assists in completing Institutional Review Board (IRB) applications and review forms; assists with ensuring that research activities are appropriately documented and maintained; organizes study documents and maintains study files; assists PI with scientific writing of clinical outcomes abstracts, manuscripts, and other written documents to disseminate research outcomes from REDCap dataset, KL2 for career development, and all related outcomes studies; tracks and maintains database of SHIPI's publications and presentations; assists with creation of Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, posters, and graphic illustrations; performs library research on specified topics;

Education and experience

A bachelor's degree in biological sciences, health sciences, or an allied medical profession or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience in a clinical research capacity desired; experience in orthopaedics or physical rehabilitation preferred; computer skills required with knowledge of database and Microsoft Office software applications desired; phlebotomy certification or willingness to obtain training desired; data analysis experience desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
