Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 443416) - Postoctoral Researcher to join interdisciplinary research term in the laboratory of Dr. Janice Kiecolt-Glaser in the Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research; pursues specialized training and experience in research by participating in projects that address the interactions among stress, close personal relationships, aging, neuroendocrine and immune function, and their relationships to health outcomes including studies on inflammation and cancer; studies the role of behavior on hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) activation and cellular immunity and how these interactions modulate health; develops hypotheses; plans and designs research to test hypotheses; designs and conducts experiments as directed by principal investigator; collects analyzes, interprets, and consolidates data; records research results, compiles and organizes data for publications; writes and prepares manuscripts, articles and research reports for publication; conducts literature reviews to increase knowledge and discover new research trends and methods; supervises and trains memebers of research teams.

Education and experience

Prior human research experience and publications. Solid quantitative skills and experience with biobehavioral, psychoneuroimmunology, and/or cancer research are desired. ABD status is acceptable during the application period, but the PhD must be completed by the start date. Requires successful completion of a background check. Qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
