Position summary

Clinical Research Coordinator (Job Opening 443732) - Clinical Research Coordinator plans and coordinates daily research activities for the Department of Urology; identifies and assesses eligibility of patients for consideration for participation in clinical research studies; recruits, interviews, and enrolls patients; obtains and ensures informed consent processes; educates patients and families of purpose, processes and goals of clinical study; participates in assessing patients for eligibility related to protocol; participates in collecting extracting, and maintaining clinical research data; reviews, monitors and ensures integrity of research data; participates in activities to ensure compliance with all federal and funding sponsor regulations; participates in planning, organizing and preparing for external and internal quality assurance and control reviews; assists principal investigators (PIs)in preparations and submissions of manuscripts for publication and presentation; investigates, identifies potential sources for funding; assists in the preparation and submission of grant applications; assists with preparations of submissions of regulatory documents in accordance with institutional, sponsor and federal guidelines; assists in the writing and editing of protocols, manuscripts, presentations and other scientific and scholarship documents; assists in training and oversight of trainees involved in research projects for department; generates research related reports as requested.

Education and experience

Bachelor's degree in biological/health sciences or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required; experience in clinical research required; clinical research certification from ACRP or SOCRA desired; knowledge of medical terminology desired; experience in medical or technical writing preferred; data coordination and database management experience desired; requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
