Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 445357) - Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue research on immune responses during tuberculosis (TB) infection in the Department of Microbial Infection & Immunity; designs, conducts, and evaluates resarch experiments; manages mouse colonies including breeding, genotyping, and animal surgery; analyzes and interprtes data; performs scientific literature searches; participates in journal clubs, laboratory meetings, and Department seminars and acitivities; assists with training of other lab members; writes research papers for publication; presents research findings at local, national, or international scientific meetings; applies for postdoctoral fellowships; assists PI with writing and submitting grant proposals to obtain extramural funding in support of research.

Education and experience

MD, PhD, or MD/PhD required; ability to interact in a highly multidisciplinary environment; experience with cell biology, molecular biology, immunology, and/or multicolor flow cytometry desired; experience with animal handling and husbandry desired. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
