Position summary

Research Associate 1-B/H (Job Opening 448393) - Research Associate 1-BH to participate in planning, designing and managing research projects investigating lymphoma within the Comprehensive Cancer Center; participates in the development and implementation of new and/or revised research methodologies and techniques; designs and executes complex laboratory experiments into the molecular and genetic pathways involved in animal development using a variety of experimental techniques including molecular biology, genetics, microscopy, and biochemistry; performs advanced molecular and cellular techniques including flow cytometry, immunoblotting, and molecular biology techniques; collects, analyzes and interprets and evaluates research data; performs routine experimental procedures on laboratory animals, including the performance of surgical procedures or administration of drugs; collaborates with principal investigator to write manuscripts, articles, abstracts and research reports for publication in peer-reviewed journals; attends and presents at national and international scientific conferences, workshops and seminars; assists with the development and preparation of grant proposals to obtain outside funding in support of research; monitors expenses; conducts critical analysis of research literature related to research being investigated; trains and/or supervises other lab staff.

Education and experience

Masters degree in a appropriate biological/health science or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Ability to translate, adapt and apply academic and/or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research is required. Animal handling experience desired. Experience in a biological/health science research capacity is preferred. Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
