Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 450012) - Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the study of the role of cytoskeleton and signaling in the biogenesis and progression of heart disease and arrhythmia; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH), as well as by other agencies; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.

Education and experience

Doctoral degree in a biological or health sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; Experience in cytoskeletal research, including recombinant protein expression and purification, cell and lipid biology, and fluorescence microscopy desired; experience in protein purification and cell biology and prior training in biochemistry, biophysics, molecular biology, and fluorescence microscopy is strongly preferred; strong scientific publication record desired.
