Position summary

Clinical Research Manager (Job Opening 450232) - Serves as Clinical Research Manager in the Department of Ophthalmology; participates in execution of activities with guidance and in collaboration with Vice Chair of Research and Principal Investigators; evaluates and implements designated aspects of new research strategies; participates in developing and implementing processes to accrue patients to clinical trials to ensure consistency and integrity in eligibility determination, recruitment and subject management; collaborates with Principal Investigators to develop and implement study participant consenting processes to comply with sponsor and federal regulations; develops and implements plans to meet requirements of new studies; oversees and manages planning, implementation and execution of clinical trials of assigned research disease groups; plans and supervises daily administrative, research and patient care activities of the clinical research staff; provide oversight to various disease groups; oversees clinical research staffa??s recruitment activity including, interviewing, screening and enrolling of patients into relevant protocols; assists with training and re-training of newly hired as well as current clinical research staff; monitors and assesses clinical activities to identify and reinforce adherence to good clinical practice guidelines; supervises clinical research data collection, management, analysis and reporting; collaborates with investigators to develop research protocols and assists with writing and preparation of grant applications to obtain research funding; participates in writing and submission of manuscripts and articles for publication and presentation conducts quality assurance reviews of research processes and data; ensures compliance to federal, state and local regulations and guidelines; plans, coordinates and participates in site visits by research sponsors and regulatory agencies as needed; recruits, hires, trains, evaluates and directly supervises clinical research staff; actively cont

Education and experience

Bachelors, (Mastera??s Degree preferred) in biological sciences, business admin, allied medical professions, or health care field with relevant state licensure or registration or other relevant field or equivalent combination of education & experience; extensive experience in a clinical or bench research capacity conducting & implementing research projects required; 3-5 yearsa?? experience in a progressively responsible administrative or management research capacity preferred; knowledge of clinical research regulations, guidelines & compliance issues required including Institutional Review Board (IRB) & federal or industry sponsor processes and requirements; ACRP (Assn of Clinical Research Professionals) or SOCRA (Society of Clinical Research A
