Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 450445) - Post Doctoral Researcher to pursue specialized research training, education and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; plans, designs and executes experiments of considerable scope and complexity in the study of the role of microRNAs, lncRNAs, and epigenetic regulation of gene expression in the biogenesis and progression of heart disease and arrhythmia; collects and analyzes data for research sponsored by the National Institute of Health (NIH), as well as by other agencies; identifies and selects problems to be studied; develops and troubleshoots new experimental techniques and protocols; attends research seminars; contributes to manuscript preparation and supports technical writing; participates in preparation of grant applications for extramural funding.

Education and experience

Doctoral degree in a biological or health sciences field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; prior training in molecular biology techniques, cell signaling pathways and experience in cellular electrophysiology, animal or whole heart functional study is strongly preferred; scientific publication record desired.
