Research Scientist (Job Opening 452418) - Serves as principal investigator or Co-Investigator on sponsored research grants and conducts independent research activities in the area of anesthesia; develops and submits grant proposals or original research; obtains research support, including a significant amount in support of salary, derived from grant funding; tracks grant submissions to national and local agencies to ensure proper review procedures and re-submission as necessary; supervises clinical research personnel; coordinates preparation and submission of publications; revises manuscripts following review, proof galleys for accuracy and ensures return to editorial staff or journal for timely publication; prepares and presents at research conferences; trains, supervises and directs potential investigators, undergraduate researchers, support and research personnel; participates in determining research priorities and plans programs of research; evaluates the effect of treatments; performs descriptive and multivariate statistical analyses and interpretations of data, recruits and schedules research participants; prepares tables, graphs, fact sheets and written reports summarizing research; prepares, manipulates and manages databases. Obtain informed consent of subjects and edits and submits protocols and other required documentation; develops and implements research quality control procedures; conducts internet based and library research.
Education and experience
Doctoral Degree Required: M.D. with demonstrated ability to be a complement and productive researcher (significant publications record) and evidence of participation in clinical trials or investigator initiated studies, study design and implementation; experience in mentoring trines is highly desired; experience in a post researcher capacity in clinical research in the area of anesthesia preferred.
