Position summary

Post Doctoral Scholar (Job Opening 455481) - Post Doctoral Scholar to pursue continued training and experience in the Division of Immunology; plans, designs and executes molecular, cellular and immunochemical experiments utilizing flow cytometry, immunoblotting and isolation techniques of various cells, tissue culture and PCR; researches new methods; provides quality control for laboratory experiments; analyzes data; prepares research results for professional publications; prepares manuscripts; assists with the design of new grant applications, collection of preliminary data and organization and writing of grants; guides and trains students and research staff; troubleshoots problems in the laboratory.

Education and experience

Doctoral degree in molecular, cellular and developmental biology or microbiology required; experience in molecular biology or immunology preferred; ability to translate, adapt and apply academic or practical knowledge in the conduct of biological/health science research preferred; ability to perform techniques in flow cytometry, immunoblotting and isolation techniques of various cells, tissue culture and PCR required. Requires successful completion of a background check.
