Position summary

Post Doctoral Researcher (Job Opening 455659) - The Post Doctoral Researcher will pursue specialized research training and experience under the guidance of a scientific mentor; conducts research to characterize the immunologic and genetic basis of human cancers; develops, adopts and implements new experimental methods to achieve further characterization of various human immune cell types, their respective developmental pathways; identifies novel genes and examines their role in the development of immunologic approaches to disease treatment; analyzes changes in mRNA or protein expression, flow cytometric analysis, gene cloning and mutation detection; participates in analyzing data for reports for the purpose of grants submissions; designs and conducts pre-clinical studies using a variety of disease models in mice; trains staff. Previous experience working with research animals (mice), DNA/RNA/Protein isolation, purification, PCR/qPCR, Western and Northern blot techniques, Molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, Flow cytometric data collection and analysis, microscopy, single cell, RNAseq, Crispr library construction, CyTof, Immunohistochemistry. Training others in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, real time PCR, complex data analyses.

Education and experience

Doctoral degree required; Previous experience working with research animals (mice), DNA/RNA/Protein isolation, purification, PCR/qPCR, Western and Northern blot techniques, molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, flow cytometric data collection and analysis. Preferred Experience: Analytical microscopy, microarray, Flow cytometry, CyToF, cell culture, animal handling, Immunohistochemistry. Training others in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, real time PCR.
