Facilities Engineering Manager (Job Opening 428050) - SCOPE OF POSITION The Ohio State University Health System is committed to innovation in research, education, and patient care. The Facilities Engineering Manager, within the Facilities Services Department is responsible for the day-to-day operation of common laboratory support systems, building operations and maintenance, and all managerial functions of assigned Facilities associates. The Facilities Engineering Manager is also responsible for communications and coordination of Facilities activities and functions within the Ohio State University College of Medicine, University Laboratory Animal Research and the Medical Center to promote a safe and comfortable environment. Building systems and equipment are operated 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The Facilities Engineering Manager will be subject to call back and may cover for other Facilities Operation's employees due to absence or vacancy, as necessary. POSITION SUMMARY The Facilities Engineering Manager for Engineering and Project Support is responsible for the operational supervision of contractors and project personnel assigned and for the coordination and communications to of all project activities to the project team, affected building occupants, facilities and administrative staff. This position may also serve as an area shop manager when required. The Facilities Engineering Manager will provide leadership and development for the Facilities Service's Team and supports the Facilities Services IMAGE program and the departmental goals and mission.

Education and experience

Associate Degree in Technology or Business or an equivalent combination of education and experience (2 years progressive supervisory experience & High School Graduate or GED Certificate). 4 years technical experience. 2 years hospital experience. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Knowledge of applicable codes and regulatory requirements. General knowledge of computers and skills with office and engineering software. -Experience with operations of automated systems. Working knowledge of blueprints and technical drawings.
