Inventory Control Analyst (Job Opening 430017) - SCOPE OF POSITION The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC), The James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients through teaching, research and patient care; and providing the community/region it serves with high quality services in cancer detection, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation as one of the nation?s 10 free standing ?cancer-only? hospitals, which is one of the largest PPS-exempt hospitals in the USA. The ?new? James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institution, including Critical Care Units and an expanded Emergency Department is a transformational facility that fosters collaboration and integration of research and clinical cancer care. This 1.1 million square foot hospital spans 21 levels will help revolutionize the way cancer prevention and care are provided in this nation with world-class oncologists and cancer researchers working side-by-side to unlock the mysteries of cancer?s causes and using those discoveries, move from treating cancer to preventing it from ever occurring. Program activities offered in the new hospital includes: 276 acute care beds, 72 critical care beds (72 shelled), 152 outpatient exam rooms, 40 infusion stations, 16 clinical trial stations, 14 Operating Rooms, 12 Apheresis beds, and expanded Emergency Department by 46 rooms with 16 rooms dedicated to oncology patients. The James currently encompasses more than 12,500 annual hospital admissions, over 380,000 annual outpatient and clinic patient visits, and over 8,500 surgeries per year. The OSUWMC Emergency Department patient visits are over 68,000 per year. The Assistant Director Facilities Planning and Operations supports The James? mission and values by coordinating and providing exceptional level of operational principles and analytical processes. Responsibilities include actively promoting an Intensive Caring image in support of an absolute customer satisfaction. The patients served by the new hospital will find themselves at the intersection of research, education, and customized care. Research and education spaces will be located on every floor, enhancing the bench-to-beside approach to patient care and giving patients early access to new treatments and tools. POSITION SUMMARY The Inventory Control Analyst provides equipment inventory control, maintains adequate stock, monitors inventorylevels and meets forecasting demands for the ?new? James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institution and Critical Care Tower, including the Emergency Department. The Inventory Control Analyst works closely with their designated departments and areas on equipment needs and is responsible for maintaining all equipment for those areas. This position will maintain updated files and produces reports in all level of equipment management. The Inventory Control Analyst will collaborate with purchasing and clinical engineering on vendor contract, warranties and maintenance programs. The Inventory Control Analyst will be responsible in maintaining vendor relationships. This position will work with vendors and advise customers in acquisition, receiving, inventory and Supply Chain Logistics questions along with solving discrepancies related to them. This position will be accountable for tracking non-capital equipment for their designated departments. The Inventory Control Analyst will work closely with their Assistant Director, Manager and fellow Inventory Control Analyst in ensuring building standards are implemented throughout the James campus. This position is encouraged to stay up to date in new equipment trends and will introduce need and improved ideas that will keep our facilities at high state of the art standards. This positon follows compliance with appropriate patient care and business practice areas, and equipment operations twenty-four (24) hours a day, seven (7) days a week.

Education and experience

Bachelors degree in Business Administration or related field is preferred with 2-4 years of inventory management experience, or equivalent combination of experience and education, or considerable years of practical experience with background and product knowledge to perform inventory management in general and medical commodities. Must have in-depth knowledge of medical equipment and clinical engineering products.
