Position summary

Nurse Manager (Job Opening 438778) - Scope of Position University Hospital East is committed to enhancing the quality of care provided to patients. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the daily operations and administrative leadership of Talbot Hall inpatient detox unit and nursing float pool. The Nurse Manager is responsible for the overall planning; organization, direction and evaluation of staff and department patient care operations on Talbot Hall Detox unit and for optimizing staffing by maintaining float pool operations on a 24-hour basis. The Nurse Manager is key in operationalizing systems directed toward achievement of patient satisfaction, optimization of patient treatment, quality patient care outcomes, maximum involvement of the patient in his/her own plan of care, improvement of service levels, and reduction of costs. Patients will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. Talbot Hall is a 25 bed inpatient unit that provides medically supervised, but voluntary detox services for an adult patient population who has any prescription/non-prescription or alcohol addiction diagnosis. Float pool staff include staff nurses (both medical-surgical and critically care trained) and PCAa??s who are not assigned to a particular unit, but who assist with covering staffing vacancies as determined by competency. Position Summary The Nurse Manager is responsible for managing, coaching, evaluating the work performance of the staff on in areas of oversight. Ongoing collaboration with other departments/areas that relate directly or indirectly to patient care operations and services is essential. The Nurse Manager will demonstrate core competencies in the area of accountability, service orientation, effective communication & interpersonal skills, building & fostering teams, and functional & technical.

Education and experience

BSN and current Ohio licensure. Previous acute care/addiction medicine, nursing leadership role preferred.
