Committed to excellence in patient care, education and research

The Division of Ultrasound Medicine in The Ohio State University Department of Emergency Medicine is focused on providing quality patient care utilizing state-of-the-art ultrasound techniques.

Our Ultrasound Division faculty provide high-quality ultrasound education to medical students, residents, fellows and attendings while publishing our educational advances in medical journals. Completing more than 5,000 ultrasound cases a year between University Hospital and East Hospital Emergency Departments, the Ultrasound program continues to grow to serve the patients in central Ohio.

The Ultrasound Medicine faculty are active in national and international meetings where we give lectures, present posters and participate in ultrasound competitions. We have eight core faculty members: David Bahner, MD, Division Director and Ultrasound Director; Creagh Boulger, MD, Associate Ultrasound Director; Michael Prats, MD, Assistant Ultrasound Director; Lauren Branditz, MD, Education Director; Daralee Hughes, MD, East Hospital Ultrasound Director; Delia Gold, MD; Irene Mynatt, DO; and Jess Everett, MD.

Together this group is engaged in academic excellence in clinical care using ultrasound, training new learners from across the medical spectrum, researching new knowledge and administering multiple quality programs and projects within the Ultrasound Division.
