Experience and Interests
Sara joined the Department of Family and Community Medicine in February of 2014. Prior to this, she focused on disease state management and education in several community pharmacy locations. She also has several years of resident and student preceptor experience. Sara found a niche and passion for helping the complex diabetes patient in 2005, and has been a Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) since 2010. She feels passionate about helping to empower patients to manage their own health, through education, goal setting, and medication management. As part of the interdisciplinary team in Family Medicine, she meets with patients for chronic disease state management through education and medication management, medication reviews, smoking cessation, and medication titrations. In her free time, Sara enjoys being active with her husband and children, watching her children play sports, and winning at family game night!
