Showcasing resident research projects
Resident research projects are presented at the annual research symposium. This symposium has come to be known as the Mallory-Coleman Research Day and is named after two prominent orthopaedic surgeons in Columbus who have been very influential to the orthopaedic program over the years. Dr. Thomas Mallory is the former chair of the Department of Orthopaedics at The Ohio State University. Dr. Carl Coleman is director emeritus of orthopaedic education at Riverside Methodist Hospital, one of the principal teaching institutions for Ohio State residents. At the Mallory-Coleman Research Day, a distinguished visiting professor from an outside institution is invited to moderate and analyze the resident presentations and abstracts as well as provide constructive criticism and commentary for each resident presentation.
