Education Fund
The Ohio State University Department of Radiology supports our fellows professional development with a $1500.00 Education Fund for pre-approved expenses. Examples of eligible expenses include support of licensure fees, travel expenses related to meetings, and other supplemental education learning materials.

Other Benefits
In addition to the Education Fund, Ohio State Radiology fellows are provided with the following resources at no cost (subject to taxation):

  • Subscription to StatDx and eAnatomy
  • Paid garage parking
  • Monthly on call meal stipend

  • Moonlighting opportunities

Travel and vacation benefits

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides fellows with a minimum of two weeks of paid vacation per year. The Department of Radiology, however, provides three weeks of vacation. We advise fellows to plan as far in advance as possible.

Fellows are allowed five days of meeting attendance time per year. Funding is available to trainees to help with meeting and other educational expenses during their program.

Sick and maternity benefits

Maternity and paternity leave
The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center provides up to six weeks of paid maternity leave and six weeks of paid paternity leave. No moonlighting during maternity or paternity leave will be permitted. Fellows should be aware that the amount of leave taken may affect their ability to meet the requirements of the applicable certifying board. Because the length of maternity or paternity leave may impact the amount of time allowed away from a training program by a certifying board, the program director may utilize vacation time, sick leave, personal days or conference leave to accomplish completion of the training requirements within the standard training period.

Sick Leave

Our policy is in compliance with the institutional policy for sick leave. Radiology fellows are considered full-time and accrue paid sick leave at a rate of 10 hours per month for a total of 120 hours per year.
