About Me

I am a hematologist specializing in multiple myeloma and related plasma cell disorders. I received my MBBS at Aga Khan University in Karachi, Pakistan and completed my internal medicine and chief medical residencies at Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School. More recently, I completed my fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Florida.

I manage the whole spectrum from monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance to smoldering multiple myeloma to active multiple myeloma. My clinical focus is on patients with relapsed and refractory disease and those who have high-risk features. My research interests include the development of novel anti-myeloma drugs through participation in clinical trials. I work closely with our basic and translational research colleagues to better the understanding of disease biology and identify innovative treatment options for this cancer.

In addition to my clinical work, I’m an assistant professor in the Division of Hematology and an active member of institutional scientific review committees. I am enthusiastic about education and teaching. I am also a member of a number of international scientific societies, including the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.

At The James, we strive to provide the most comprehensive treatment approach to our patients. We have weekly meetings to discuss interesting and challenging cases. We have access to a large number of clinical trials, including concepts developed at The Ohio State University, and we collaborate closely with investigators within and outside of the institution. While cancer in general is a life-altering diagnosis, we are fortunate to have access to modern diagnostic procedures and imaging, a large armamentarium of treatment options and fantastic staff so that we are able to provide the best care to our patients.

I absolutely LOVE my Dr. I'd do a commercial I love OSU Dr's and the care here so much. You all have literally given me my physical and mental health back. I probably wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the care I've received.
