Clinical interests of mine include oncoplastic lumpectomy and nipple-sparing mastectomy for the treatment of breast cancer, and minimally invasive inguinal lymph node dissection for the treatment of melanoma and other cancers that have metastasized to the inguinal lymph nodes. I also serve as the local principal investigator on a number of clinical trials, both in development and ongoing, related to the treatment of breast cancer and melanoma.
I serve on the Society of Surgical Oncology Training Committee, and I am an ad hoc reviewer for a number of scientific cancer journals, including the Journal of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. I am also the 2013 recipient of the BRAVO Year-End Patient Satisfaction Achievement Award and the 2013 High-Performing Physician award, both given by The Ohio State University.

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/25/2016, Dr. Terando has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
