About Me
As a family medicine physician, I meet and care for individuals of all ages, races, genders and backgrounds. I want to develop a partnership with each patient so they feel comfortable making decisions regarding their health care. No one day is like the next because I treat a wide range of acute and chronic conditions. I specialize in the management of chronic illnesses including diabetes and hypertension; preventive care, including smoking cessation, weight loss management and immunizations; and acute problems, including respiratory illnesses, rashes and minor musculoskeletal injuries. In addition, I perform some common family medicine procedures.
Although Ohio State is a large academic institution, working here feels as if you’re part of a family. My colleagues and I frequently see each other outside of work and there’s no shortage of support from members of the Ohio State community.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and son, exploring the outdoors with my family and dog, trying new restaurants and breweries in town, and cheering on the Buckeyes in football, hockey and basketball games.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/01/2020, Dr. Swartz has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
