About Me

I am an orthopaedic surgeon, fellowship-trained and certified in sports medicine. I specialize in sports-related injuries. More specifically, my practice is primarily focused on the lower extremity injuries and knee injuries (anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, reconstructions and revisions, meniscal injuries, repair and transplantation, multi-ligament injuries, cartilage injuries and restorative procedures, patella instability corrective surgeries, and ligament and tendon tears).

Dealing with knee and sports-related injuries can range from simple to complex. I believe in involving patients with their care, exploring all options to improve their health and returning them to the best condition possible.

I love my job because The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center has allowed me to blend my passion for clinical care, research and education all together. Because of this, I believe patients are receiving the best, most up-to-date care in the United States.

Absolutely amazing experience given the severity of my injury. If I ever injure a knee again I will be coming back to Dr. Flanigan.

Seemed very confident and also went above and beyond what he had to do for my specific situation.

    Knowledgeable

He ordered X-rays before seeing me. I'm assuming that was based on reading up on my prior health issues. That saved time and I didn't have to feel like I was starting all over with my care.

Can't say enough - I'm not comfortable in hospital situations but I am with him - knowledgeable w/great "bedside manner" to put you at ease. Understands the mindset of someone with an athletic background who wants to get back to sports ASAP while keeping my best interests in mind. Trust him explicitly (not only to make the right decision rather than just schedule surgery as so many others do).

All good. Had a dificult repair to my meniscus by Dr. Flanagin, he has been great to work with as well as the rest of his staff.
