About Me

As an obstetrician, I love having the opportunity to care and advocate for women and be there for some of the most pivotal moments, both in their health and their life. I find continuing to check in with patients through these life changes to be one of the most rewarding aspects of obstetrics and gynecology. I provide a full breadth of obstetric and prenatal care, which allows me to tailor a patient’s experience to meet their goals. I hope to empower my patients to achieve their health care goals by providing evidence-based medicine and an atmosphere that makes patients feel comfortable.

I have a special interest in gynecologic surgery for management of abnormal uterine bleeding, adnexal masses, vulvar disorders and abnormal cervical cytology. In addition, I help patients through management of pelvic pain and sexual dysfunction collaboratively with our pelvic floor PT team.

At Ohio State Wexner Medical Center, I also work closely with residents and medical students as part of my role as an attending physician. I believe that academic medicine provides the most patient-centered care because the teaching aspect shows that as a team we are constantly learning and evolving to provide the most innovative care possible. The faculty, staff and students at Ohio State make our incredible hospital feel more like a family. I have so much pride in working at Ohio State and welcoming a new generation of “Baby Buckeyes.”

In my free time, I enjoy running outside, riding on my Peloton and sand volleyball. I’m also always looking for ways to explore the local parks, coffee shops and restaurants in Columbus.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/01/2020, Dr. Cassell has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
