About Me

I am a hematologist who specializes in treating patients with lymphoma. I received my medical degree at Texas A&M University and completed my residency in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education. I then completed a hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Michigan before joining the medical staff at The Ohio State University, where I also serve as an assistant professor in the Division of Hematology.

Our clinic focuses on the management of patients who have been diagnosed with lymphoma, and we aim to provide every patient with the best, most innovative treatments available. Despite great advances in the treatment of many lymphomas over the past several decades, we know that we can and should continue to strive for better outcomes. As part of that mission, we offer patients the highest quality standard-of-care options for treatment as well as the opportunity to participate in clinical trials.

My research interests include developing and clinically evaluating novel treatments for lymphoma with a particular focus on a rare subset known as T-cell lymphoma. I am the primary investigator on several clinical trials, and my work has been published in such peer-reviewed journals as Cell Stem Cell, Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, American Journal of Hematology and Mayo Clinic Proceedings.

There are a number of great things about working at the OSUCCC – James, from the high-quality, patient-centered care by our multidisciplinary treatment teams to the availability of cutting-edge treatments and research. I am honored to work alongside such esteemed colleagues both within and outside my division as we collaborate on the shared goal of bringing about a cancer-free world.
