About Me
As a physiatrist, I specialize in working with patients who are dealing with musculoskeletal pain and nerve pain. This includes arthritis, muscle strains, joint injuries, tendon problems, neck and back pain, pinched nerves, brachial plexus injuries, entrapment neuropathies, generalized neuropathies, concussions and deconditioning.
Training in rehabilitation exposes us to the rehabilitation needs of patients with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, general sports and musculoskeletal injuries, and cancer or cancer treatment-related problems among many other things. I love being able to help people improve their pain and get back to doing the things they love.
Each patient should expect a thorough evaluation and examination to help identify the source of the pain and any underlying biomechanical abnormalities that we can treat. We will work together to get the appropriate diagnostic tests including X-rays, MRIs, ultrasounds and electromyography (EMG) as necessary. My primary treatments are targeted therapies and localized treatments with the hope of minimizing medication use. I focus on the use of exercise as medicine.
We will work together as a team to utilize all of the resources that Ohio State has to offer, such as close relationships with outstanding therapy teams as well as our interventionalists and surgeons.
In my free time, I try to keep active with recreational sports and weightlifting. I love trying new workout routines, and I try to focus on compound lifting and functional fitness activities. I’m a big football and basketball fan. I also have two energetic German shepherds to fill up the rest of my free time.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 11/01/2020, Dr. Goike has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
