About Me

I specialize in inpatient neurorehabilitation after brain or spinal cord injury, outpatient neuromodulation procedures like transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) and transcranial direct current stimulation (TDCS), and run specialized neurotechnology clinical trials. I’m passionate about bringing new rehabilitation technologies to patients to help them recover faster, better and become more independent.

My focus is on ways the rehabilitation team can work together with each patient to maximize wellness, improve resilience and enhance each person’s ability to do the things that are important to them, regardless of injury or impairment. I take a holistic view on patient wellness, incorporating diet, exercise, neuromodulation, complementary and alternative therapies, cognitive-behavioral approaches as well as medication and restorative therapies to empower each person to achieve their best quality of life.

I love working at Ohio State because the Buckeye community of healthcare providers (and fellow alumni) has always felt like family to me. We share values and purpose, “paying it forward” through excellence in research, patient care and education.

In my free time, I enjoy watching Ohio State football with my family, painting and creating fiber arts, hanging out with my clowder of cats and vacationing in national parks.

More About My Work

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 11/21/2019, Dr. Bockbrader has reported no relationships with companies or entities.
