I’m a medical oncologist with a focus on hematology. I treat a variety of cancers, including blood, lung, breast and gastrointestinal cancers. I feel fortunate to be a part of the OSUCCC – James, where the latest therapies and diagnostic technologies are at my fingertips. At The James, we strive to overcome the unique challenges surrounding any particular cancer with an unyielding commitment to patient welfare.

I’m particularly fond of the collegial environment at The James. Prior to practicing general oncology, I served as a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. This leadership experience has enabled me to successfully guide my patients on their journey from patient to survivor.

Research is an important part of my career. Working alongside other world-class cancer experts, I participate in ongoing research and clinical trials in hopes that it will one day lead to a cancer-free world. I also attend medical conferences regularly to keep up with developments in my field.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies, etc. because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/25/2016, Dr. Collins has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies, etc. If you have questions about how these relationships are monitored by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, please contact our Compliance Office at 614-293-7802.
