About Me
I am a hematologist who specializes in treating patients with Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas at the OSUCCC – James. I am also an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Hematology at The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
After receiving my medical degree in India, I came to the United States and completed an internal medicine residency in 2013 at the Marshfield Clinic in Wisconsin. I then obtained a master's degree in clinical and translational science and completed my fellowship training in hematology/oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin before joining the faculty at Ohio State in July 2017. I received several awards during my residency and fellowship, along with multiple honors from the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation.
My research focuses on conducting clinical trials using novel drug combinations to treat patients with lymphoid malignancies, including Hodgkin and non-Hodgkin lymphomas. I am also working to identify biomarkers that can predict treatment response as well as early relapse. I have authored or co-authored numerous articles in scientific journals, as well as several meeting abstracts and book chapters.
I have always aspired to be a complete physician by providing quality care to my patients, conducting impactful research on their diseases and mentoring students. The OSUCCC – James enables me to do this while also working with deeply experienced medical colleagues. I'm hopeful that the combination of high-quality research, state-of-the-art technology and targeted treatment will help us achieve our vision of a cancer-free world.

Good
Drive three hours for his care
Dr. Epperla has been my doctor for 5 years and he consistently handles my check-ups with great care. He communicates extremely well.
Unbelievably good, in all regards.
I can't say enough about my doctor and his assistants, he was the most kind and caring doctor that I have ever had and he tried so hard to help me understand everything.
Dr. Epperla is very pleasant and personable. He clearly explains expectations and clinical information. He never appears like he's anxious to move on to the next patient. I always feel that I have his full attention and that he will take all the time I need to explain anything I still have questions about.
