I am a medical oncologist who specializes in managing the treatment of patients with breast cancer. I treat patient in all stages of the disease. I treat patients of all ages, including the elderly; my postdoctoral training included a fellowship in geriatric medicine. My breast oncology fellowship training gave me extensive interdisciplinary experience in breast cancer assessment and treatment, including cancer genetics, imaging, prevention, surgical observation and radiation techniques.

My research projects have included genetically assessing the success of pre-surgical treatment in patients with HER-2+ breast cancer, and identifying molecular pathways and biomarkers that may suggest new therapies for treating breast cancer that has metastasized (spread) to the brain. I also have written and/or conducted breast cancer clinical trials.

Consulting and Related Relationships

At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.

As of 03/28/17, Dr. Williams has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
