About Me

I am a thoracic surgeon and an associate professor in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at The Ohio State University. In my clinical practice, I specialize in performing minimally invasive surgeries to treat patients with malignancies including lung cancer, esophageal cancer and mediastinal tumors.?I strive to provide the best possible care to patients with lung cancer and esophageal cancer, as well as a wide range of other thoracic disorders. My highest priorities are my patients, their best interest and overall well-being. I feel honored to care for and support my patients and their families every step of the way.

My clinical interests include lung cancer, esophageal cancer, thymic tumors, airway surgery, and chest wall surgery. I also treat benign conditions, such as hyperhidrosis, myasthenia gravis, esophageal reflux and achalasia. I utilize minimally invasive surgery, such as Video Assisted Thoracoscopic Surgery (VATS) and Robotic Surgery whenever possible. These innovative techniques aim to cause less surgical trauma and pain for the patient and yet offer the same benefits as traditional procedures. Additionally, I do my very best to advance the field of medicine, through research and through education of fellows, residents, and medical students. My research involves clinical studies focusing on oncology and patient reported outcomes. At the OSUCCC – James, I have the privilege to work with a dedicated team of expert physicians. We have a multidisciplinary and patient-centered approach to provide the most targeted treatments.

As a member of the Translational Therapeutics Program at the OSUCCC – James, my research is focused on continuing to improve patient-centered care by critically evaluating and expanding the applications of minimally invasive techniques. My investigative work also includes clinical trials and molecular staging projects.

I have authored dozens of articles published in peer-reviewed journals and delivered presentations across the United States and internationally. I have received awards from the Society of Thoracic Surgeons and been honored by The Ohio State University with the Thomas E. Williams, Jr., MD, PhD Award for Excellence in Teaching.
