About Me

I am a nurse practitioner in the Cancer Supportive Care Clinic at the OSUCCC – James, where I primarily work with breast cancer survivors. I am passionate about my career at The James because I feel that there are many sequelae (a pathological condition resulting from a disease or injury) experienced by cancer survivors that are often not recognized or go unaddressed. These sequelae are not only physical but also emotional, practical, spiritual and cognitive. It is important that we as cancer care providers address and offer resources to those suffering from such conditions. Our goal is for survivors to have the best quality of life possible while also promoting habits that foster overall health, well-being and longevity.

The fact that we have a dedicated cancer supportive care clinic at The James is unique, and the number of resources we are able to offer our patients is an added bonus, including oncology-related physical therapy and occupational therapy, cancer-related counseling, massage therapy and many more. Additionally, within some of these categories are specialty groups that are targeted at addressing issues commonly experienced by cancer survivors like fatigue, sleep challenges and cognitive changes.

In my professional career, it has been a privilege to work as at the Stefanie Spielman Comprehensive Breast Center since 2012. This building is such a gem to those diagnosed with breast cancer, from the facility to the technology to the high caliber of staff and patient-centered care. Additionally, it’s nice to be surrounded by providers who are experts in their field, which is not only great as a provider, because you’re able observe and learn from your peers, but also gives you the confidence that your patients are receiving top-notch cancer care.
