A relatively new field, interventional pulmonology focuses on the use of advanced diagnostic techniques to treat lung and chest conditions. My specific focus is in lung cancer diagnosis through bronchoscopic techniques that include endobronchial ultrasound and navigational bronchoscopy. At The James, we utilize the latest technologies to offer the best care possible.
Research is an important part of my career. I continue to seek out ways to improve cancer therapies and make advances in early detection of lung cancer. I hope my work can ultimately bring us closer to a cancer-free world.

Consulting and Related Relationships
At The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, we support a faculty member’s research and consulting in collaboration with medical device, research and/or drug companies because a faculty member’s expertise can guide important advancements in the practice of medicine and improve patient care. In order to provide effective management of these relationships, the University requires annual disclosures from all faculty members with external interests related to their University responsibilities.
As of 03/28/17, Dr. Pinto has reported no financial relationships with medical device, research and/or drug companies.
